"Remembering Lodz" - a contest announced in Internet http://575.uml.lodz.pl/ and http://www.575.lodz.pl/ - is meant for all those persons who had some links and connections of any kind with and in Lodz, and no longer live in the City.
The Department of the City Strategy is in Charge of Contest Organisation.

1. The participants shall present an essay in the written form that would constitute a recollection of the years spent in Lodz (e.g. school years or a story of the family roots).
2. The participant may hand over unlimited number of works.
3. The participant must have come of age by the time of contest.
4. The work shall be written in Polish.

• April 27^th - the opening of the Contest.
• April 27^th - May 29^th - the Contest.
• Offers shall be handed over by may 29^th 1998 at the Department of City Strategy in Lodz ul. Piotrkowska 104, or sent by mail at the address mentioned above or by E-mail: 575@uml.lodz.pl.
• The effective date being the post date or coming in of the e-mail. All forms shall bear the name "Remembering Lodz".
• May 30^th - June 10^th - sorting out material and works sent to the members of Jury.
• June 15^th - Jury session - choosing the winner.
• Winners will be informed of the results individually and the results will be published through Internet on The City of Lodz pages.

The Jury may award winners with:

1. First place - 3day stay in Lodz at the Grand Hotel, admission free for museums and theatres
2. Runner up - 2day stay in Lodz at the Hotel of Tourist Organisation, an album of Lodz
3. Second runner up - a set of publications

The awarded offers shall be presented in Internet on The City of Lodz pages.
The Jury may at its discretion decide not to award any one of the participants.

The Jury will consist of representatives of Department of City Strategy and tourist organisations.
Every work admitted to take part in the contest will be taken into consideration. The opinion of the Jury will constitute the base for the verdict.

Employees of Department of City Strategy, PTTK and persons professionally involved in tourist organisations may not take part in the Contest.
